Key points

  • A night in Taghazout rents for 1,297 MAD on average excluding cleaning, the highest rate in our sample (LOCAGA register 2026).
  • The peak is in July (2,396 MAD on average), but winter is wave season and stays busy (940 to 1,043 MAD in January and February).
  • Taghazout Bay offers residences with pools; the village and Tamraght are more bohemian and close to the surf spots.
  • For an owner, demand is spread across the whole year thanks to surfers in winter and families in summer.

About twenty minutes north of Agadir, Taghazout and its neighbour Tamraght were long just fishing villages. World-famous surf spots, followed by the development of the Taghazout Bay resort, have turned them into one of Morocco’s most in-demand areas for holiday lets, and a Taghazout rental now commands the highest rates around Agadir.

MeasuredPeak

The July peak (2,396 MAD) is driven by families and upmarket stays. Winter stays busy, carried by surfers: 940 MAD in January, 1,043 MAD in February and 1,314 MAD in April.

Taghazout Bay, the village or Tamraght?

  • Taghazout Bay: a recent resort with gated residences, pools, golf, hotels and parking. The choice for families and comfortable stays.
  • Taghazout village: narrow lanes, surfers’ cafés, spots on foot. Simpler homes, a unique atmosphere.
  • Tamraght: between Agadir and Taghazout, popular with surfers and digital nomads for long stays, with guesthouses and apartments on the hillside.

When to go?

For experienced surfers, September to April: consistent swells and spots such as Anchor Point or Killer Point. For learning and the beach, summer brings gentler waves and warmer water. Spring and autumn combine good conditions with more reasonable prices than July.

Tips for booking well

  • Check the real walking distance to the spot or the beach.
  • In the village, ask where to park: the streets are narrow.
  • For a month-long stay, ask for a monthly rate.
  • Check the wifi if you work remotely.
